There was cotton and entrepreneurship… in 1913 Jean-Baptiste Santens
began |

manufacturing cotton fabrics, handkerchiefs and kitchen cloths. As an entrepreneur he
|
| developed an interest in terry and laid the foundations for expansion. In 1927, he |
| initiated the production of a wide range of terry toweling products: hand towels, |
| bath towels, beach towels, and grew the business until it became the market leader |
| in quality linen. The product range has been widened since with the addition of |
| kitchen towels and table linen in 1958 and bathrobes in 1963. |
